Dear Brownie
Dear Brownie,
I have been having a few parties rearranged or cancelled lately and was wondering if this happened when you were doing parties or if this was something new? I text and try to call my Hosts before their party and also set a gift goal with them so that they are really aiming for something they want – is there something else I could be doing?
Jane – NSW
Dear Jane,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write to me, the lovely folk at the Insight office have said that this is a great question and one that many of our fabulous Australian and New Zealand demonstrators would enjoy reading about.
Jane, firstly let me reassure you that I too had rearrangements 60 years ago, we work in the wonderful world of people and people have lives that sometimes interrupt their best laid Tupperware plans. My best advice to you is to make sure your Host knows that their party is special, you are looking forward to demonstrating our amazing products to their friends and most of all that they know how to help make their party the success they desire – party planning.
My tips would be:
*Help your Host develop a guest list, sit with them and help expand their group of friends they are inviting. Suggest words they can use when calling their friends and posting the invitation, such as, “I am so excited about my Tupperware demonstration and would love you to come, the demonstrator has some great tips for lunches etc.” A lot of Hosts try and rearrange simply because they don’t have enough people coming – help them invite lots of people right from the beginning.
*Whilst I know that sending a text is convenient I think that sometimes this could become like electronic junk mail and not the special touch that sets us apart. I love to talk to people, let my excitement infect them and my voice, tell them how pleased I will be when they receive their Tupperware “Wish List”. The first call (one week from the party) could be “Hi, I am just calling to see if you need some more invitations or Catalogues” the call the day before could be “Hi, I am checking how many games gifts to bring and if there is anything specific your friends have been asking to see.”
*A gift goal or “Wish List” is a very important part of our business and I congratulate you for using this, I always think that the more Thank You and Host Gift’s I am giving away the better my business is!
*In conclusion – make sure you stand out from the crowd. Send a gorgeous “Looking forward to seeing you note” to your Host, call and speak with them at least twice before their party, shower them with Tupperware Magic at their party and don’t forget a Thank You note after their party. I can honestly say that this will reduce your rearrangements and hopefully stop cancellations.
Thank you once again, Jane we really appreciate having you on our team.
Best Wishes
Brownie
