Angela Toutounji -
Demonstrator of the Month
Hi Angela, thanks for speaking with us. What was your career choice before Tupperware?
I previously worked in various areas of the travel industry for seven years. Roles ranging from reservations supervisor to airline analyst, to front office manager of a beautiful tropical island resort.
We understand you gave up this to be a full time Tupperware Manager. What benefits could you see in being a full time Tupperware Manager over your full time job?
Flexible working hours, career development, growth and potential, unlimited financial reward and for the same amount of hours an easier and more rewarding lifestyle.
How did you ‘time manage’ moving up the Tupperware career path?
I’m a very structured and organised person by nature and love the satisfaction of being able to juggle a couple of things at the one time.
Being a flexible job I was able to work around my other commitments. Using my commuting time and time spent at the Distributorship wisely. The best thing was that I was able to complete the extra duties at a time that suited me because Tupperware is so flexible.
Two months into Managership, it dawned on me that if I was able to commit the time that I did to my full time job to Tupperware, the career path would be at my disposal. I had to treat Tupperware as my new full time job and prove that I was committed to it and therefore resigned from my 8-5 job.
How long did it take you to achieve Managership?
I was a Demonstrator for six months and then proceeded to work with the MIT program for two months before promoting to Associate Manager.
Do you have any advice for Demonstrators who aspire to become Managers?
Do what the Company tells you to do. It really is that simple. All I have ever done and all I ever advise my Unit and Direct Promote Outs to do is work with the programs (New Demonstrator Development Program & Manager in Training Program, etc) and attend training classes (Effective Series & MIT Classes) available to you. The Company has these in place knowing that if you follow this guideline closely with your Manager and Director, there really is no other option but success.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
As time goes on I learn more and more that to be a success with this Company you need curiosity, confidence, courage, consistency and belief. When you believe in the Tupperware opportunity, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionably.
Just recently during the Queenstown incentive trip I learnt a couple of things. Firstly, my husband and I realised it was a great opportunity to find out what successful people do and do the same thing until we get the same results. And secondly, a very wise woman also told me there is success in every person, all you need to do is unleash it.
The only thing stopping you is yourself!
