WBTP Media Highlights
In typical Tupperware fashion we partied hard on 4 May and attracted some sizeable crowds around the country – partying with over 20,000 people in just ONE DAY is an outstanding effort. Tupperware people can achieve incredible things when they set their minds to it. Your RELEVANT, PASSIONATE and AMAZING efforts did not go unnoticed with a larger than life media pick up before, during and after the event. Around the country TV, radio and print media embraced the World’s Biggest Tupperware Party.
Media highlights include:
• Chrissie and the girls on The Circle talked about their Tupperware obsessions and gave away a Modular Mates® set to every audience member.
• Peter Harvey “Canberra” on Channel 9 News, syndicated across the country, and featured again on the news broadcast on Qantas morning flights the following day.
• An almost two minute Bruce Paige Remembers history of Tupperware on Queensland’s Channel 9 News ran on 15 May, featuring Rose Robertson and Tupperware Manager Christine Evans, from SunCity.
• Online newspaper, WA Today, interviewed both Rose Robertson and Tupperware Director Gaye Abraham, from Majestic Sales.
• Brisbane’s Channel 10 News interview with Demonstrator Elaine Wallis (Velocity) and EPM Amanda Reid (SunCity).
• Round the clock interviews on radio 2UE with Rose Robertson interviewed for both the morning show and afternoon show and Marketing Manager Tracy Pratt featuring on the evening show.
• Radio interviews on 2GB (Sydney), MTR & 3AW (Melbourne), 4BC (Brisbane), 7HO, 7AD,7BU and 7SD in Tasmania.
Tupperware received amazing coverage before, during and after 4 May with an estimated media value at a staggering $2.7 million!
Unfortunately there were more than a few disappointed people who missed out on the Limited Edition Café Out. But every cloud has a silver lining – with over 20,000 sold on the day, the Tupperware community raised over $68,000 to be donated to both the National Breast Cancer Foundation and New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. A fantastic result that should be celebrated for two worthy causes.
Some highlights from the field:
"I held a team party at my home to celebrate this event with our most successful and regular Hosts, many of which we now call friends. I dressed up in the style of the 1960's complete with pointy glasses and a pill box hat.
"We played a game called "what is in the handbag of a lady of the 60's," with my guests guessing the contents of my 1960's bag. This was a huge success as people realised that, like Tupperware, items had not necessarily changed but been upgraded or modernised which was the aim of the exercise.
Although sales were not overly high, the event to me was to celebrate not only Tupperware's birthday but the friends and connections made through this business.
"Our local newspaper took a photograph of me in my 1960's garb . I was holding both old and new pieces of Tupperware to show the contrast of then and now. SHARE THE LOVE!"

"Celebrity attendee Sarah Wilson experienced her first Tupperware party at Diamond Sales (NSW). She did lots of research and wowed everyone with her Tupper Trivia! Did YOU know Earl Tupper invented a fish propelled boat??? Apparently that has to be part of my Auction party questions from now on!
"Poor Sarah had to endure the beautiful Sydney traffic and three accidents (not hers!) on the way to our party but we had a great night with lots of laughs. We had a few people in attendance who had not been to a Tupperware party before and asked, "When are you doing this again?" Before you ask, yes I did date them for their own party!"

"Pioneer Sales had an awesome day. Lots of our Demonstrators were active on this special day and everyone pulled together to make it the best day possible. Most of our bigger towns held a mystery Host or multi Host party.
"In Terang, a small town in Western Victoria, Tupperware Manager Joanne Roberts held a party with 26 people in attendance in a local hall and sales were over $3256. Joanne had a great time and was very excited about the result. She had 26 in attendance.
"When we are raising money for such a great cause customers can’t help themselves."

"We ran our WBTP and Breast Cancer Fundraiser at the Horsham Town Hall. It was a fantastic evening and we ended up raising $550 for the Foundation. We had a cancer survivor speak from one of the local support groups. She spoke about what they do for locals who are affected by breast cancer. This was the highlight of the night and really helped us understand breast cancer is something that can be beaten, she was very inspirational. We ran it as a team and I felt it was a great opportunity to build team dynamics and for us to grow together by doing a project together."
