Michelle Dunn -
Demonstrator of the Month
Hi Michelle, and thanks so much for talking to us today! We know that Perfectly Dunn still holds the United Sales Record for Record breaker Week, but is there any other reason why Record Breaker Week (RBW) is special to you?
I’m a super-determined person and I love to achieve a goal that I have set myself and that is why I quite simply – LOVE RBW.
To me RBW is a time to set myself a BIG scary sales goal, then work out everything I need to do around this to achieve it. RBW is also special to me as it’s the week that I promoted out as a New Manager back in 2004.
I was brought up to believe that if you work hard, have a positive attitude and always do your best by everyone then success and rewards will come your way. I think this is so true of RBW, and hey it is just that - only one week! So what if it’s a busy one? I know that at the end, I’ll feel a huge sense of achievement by meeting the sales goal I’ve set, as well as ensuring a wonderful RBW experience for all of my RBW Hosts and guests. I also think of my family, as we’d all enjoy the rewards from a successful RBW too - family holidays, spending money, as well as covering school holiday activities and back to school too. As a Tupperware Manager, I worked very closely with my base team and each promoted Manager in my group to impart this philosophy too.
What benefits are there for a demonstrator for holding as many parties as possible during RBW?
Aside from income and gifts from your sales in RBW, there are amazing benefits for your business too. Just imagine the number of people that you’ll see in RBW. Imagine holding 10 parties in this week (yes you CAN do it!) and planning for an attendance of 10+ people at each party. That’s 100 people you would be seeing in one week!
There are so many dating and recruit lead opportunities – don’t let them pass you by! Seize the opportunity by being enthusiastic, talking to everyone at the party and noting all leads to follow up in your lead book. By continuing to date in close out of RBW (into weeks 49,50 etc), you’ll set yourself up for a wonderful January and the remainder of 2012! You may be aiming for Star Demonstrator in January, MIT, or perhaps you’re a New Manager qualifying for your car now! Sounds unbelievable I know, but you really can do it! Just focus on dating right now. Successful people sometimes swan around and look like they’re not working, but they really are making those calls, overcoming objections in a nice way, relationship building and adding dates to their diary ALL THE TIME!
Who did you partner with to have such a successful RBW?
To have a successful RBW in personal (and team sales for Managers) you need to share your goal with everyone! Gain their support by explaining WHY you want to have a successful week – for your family and partner (eg: because they want that holiday at Xmas time!), friends (because they love you!), Hosts (so they achieve valuable/wanted gifts – who wouldn’t want $500+ FREE Tupperware!), guests (so they can purchase fantastic Tupperware and the ever popular mystery gifts etc). Share your goals with your Manager and Directors too - they love to hear all of your plans and to support you.
What tips would you give Managers and Demonstrators who are doing their first RBW?
Don’t be overwhelmed! Embrace the excitement and opportunities of this week by talking to everyone about the benefits of hosting a party.
1/ Planning, Planning, Planning.
Plan your goal (ie ‘sales’ goal and your ‘rewards’ goal!) Plan your family (everyone’s activities, school lunches and meals at home should be pre-organised, as well as their rewards!)
And most importantly Party Plan every Host (using the ‘Simple Steps to Party Success’ booklet, Seq #4940) to ensure each has a fabulous Tupper experience and achieves the gifts that they’re aiming for. This is the most important point of all: Go into every party knowing that your first priority is to achieve 2+ dates for your host, to ensure your host achieves the Thank you Gift and Host Gift Special. So at every party create the desire to own these products through a thorough demonstration of all ‘Thank You’ and ‘Host’ Gifts. They can’t resist booking when they will receive such wonderful rewards!
2/ Contact, Contact, Contact.
Leave nothing to chance! This is your business. Once party planning is complete, I suggest sending a lovely bright and breezy letter and hand written confirmation card to thank your host for booking with you and reminding them of the gifts they are working toward.
3/ Fun Fun Fun
Have fun at all of your parties and look forward to fun with your family when the year is over and you are enjoying the rewards for your hard work.
Sending you best wishes for a wonderful RBW 2011.
As this is our 50th year let’s make it the best ever!
Michelle
