Turbo charge your business in April!
April is a great time to get ahead in your Tupperware business. Remember not everyone goes away over Easter. With party time slots from breakfast on Monday to supper on Sunday there are plenty of options to suit both your and your Hosts’ schedules.
Have you noticed that during April the shops are always full of people looking for something to do and somewhere to spend their money? Offer your Hosts the chance to unwind, catch up with friends and have a great shopping experience at home.
Tempting April themes will help build the fun and our handy tips on overcoming objections will give you the tools to get those dates in your diary.
If you get a ‘No’, ask why?
When a prospective Host says ‘Thanks but no thanks’ to dating a Tupperware party ask them why. Their answer may surprise you. Often guests think their party will need the same elements as the one they’re attending, same day and time, same number of guests or the same huge supper supplied by their friend.
They may say ‘I can’t have a party as I usually work Fridays’ or ‘I could never get this many people to come’. They may re-think when you let them know you also have parties on week nights, or that successful parties can be hosted with 3 to 33+ in attendance, or that by selecting a tasty recipe theme they only need to put the kettle on and their guests can get involved making the nibbles!
Use your resources
Check out the ‘First Party Success - Dating at Parties’ chapter in your Demonstrator Guide to Success Manual and attend either a training party and/or a dating class (or both) to get some fresh ideas.
Help with information
When you overcome objections in a genuine, friendly way you’re helping customers make an informed decision. People use ‘No’ as a stalling tactic while they process information in their mind. Sometimes what they are really saying is ‘tell me more’ or ‘convince me why I should’.
Once, twice, thrice!
As it’s most peoples’ instinct to say ‘No’ before they have even processed the question, being ready to overcome potential objections will help you date more parties. You may already know this… but do you actually do it? It takes practice and often courage to overcome one person’s objections once, twice or more times. So, set yourself a goal and practice.
We know what you are thinking… pushy! Read the next three tips, they will answer your reservations.
Smile….it melts the heart!
Your smile is your shield of courage. Overcome multiple objections with a genuine, warm smile and a light hearted chuckle; these ‘tools’ will get you everywhere. When overcoming any objection, think about your response quickly, focus on the benefits for them and finish with the biggest smile! Remember your Hosts are spoiled with rewards.
The eyes have it!
Unless it is culturally inappropriate, eye contact is very important. It shows that you are genuine. It translates that what you are saying is true… i.e. you really DO think they would make a wonderful Host and you really WOULD like to see them earn the Tupperwave Host Gift Special for free and you really WILL help them achieve this gift goal.
Maintaining eye contact whilst delivering your assurances will build trust.
What’s in it for them?
The Host promotion for April is absolutely amazing. Let your prospective Hosts know about the rewards that are available. Explain that it’s always a good time to Host a Tupperware party… but these weeks are particularly exciting where they have the opportunity to earn some very special items.
There is no such thing as a perfect date….
School holidays, Easter, long weekends, New Year…… some people (not all) believe those times of the year are barriers to hosting a party, but why? Some prospective Hosts say ‘All my friends are away’. With a smile you reply ‘Well perhaps you may like to think of another time, so lets make a guest list using the names in your mobile and see how many people you can invite’.
Once the list is completed run through who will and who won’t be away. It will surprise your potential Host that out of their 25 names, 15 of them are staying home. Most of them looking for something to do or thinking who they could catch up with during their days off. There is no such thing as the perfect day where everyone invited can attend. Reassure your Host with the example that even wedding guest lists do not get 100% attendance…so don’t expect your Tupperware guest list to be any different.
Encourage Hosts to keep inviting. Just because the first couple of people couldn’t make it, the next few they ask may be able to come and even bring a friend or two.
Switch to a positive mindset….
Are you listening to that negative voice in your head and making assumptions for yourself and for your customers?
Try flipping your attitude and using all the tips in this article to make it a rewarding time for both yourself and your Host. You’ll be amazed at the difference this change in mindset can make.
Offer an exciting new theme
Have a ‘Celebrate the last of daylight savings’ party or a ‘Stop ‘N Shop’ for an hour with time for guests to socialize at the end for example:
Lifestyle outdoor BBQ : if you are going camping why not hold a Demonstration at your caravan/camping site
Girls night in: tell everyone about your ‘3R’s Pamper parties’ and help the adults de-stress during the school holidays.
Outdoor cocktails: try Fast Ed’s Mango Margarita recipe for a party with a difference
Support a cause: Let people know you do Fundraisers. Most areas have major fundraising drives during April. Some examples are the Children’s hospitals and Variety clubs. You could even hold one at home and donate the Host Gifts to the charity of your choice.
Special events parties
At parties find out who has a birthday in April; let them know you would love to reward them with great gifts during their birthday month and will help them catch up and celebrate with friends. Unless it’s a major milestone, most adults overlook their birthdays and may jump at this excuse to have a party!
Offer Mothers’ Day parties. With delivery required by early May, these parties will need to be in held in the first few weeks of April.
Make a plan and work your plan
Sit down with the promotional information and work out what you want to achieve from the many rewards on offer for Demonstrators and Managers. Don’t forget double ‘Spin to Win’ points in April – the final month of this promotion.
Once you know what you want, work out how many parties you need to hold in April to achieve it all. Don’t forget to add in a couple of insurance parties so you don’t miss your goal.
With April being a 5 week month you can spread your parties over the various weeks according to your availability. For example you may want to load up 2 or 3 of the weeks and do less in the other 2.
Give yourself a boost with a ‘3 Party Day’. Perhaps do this both early in the month and on the Wednesday after Easter. 10.30am, 2.30pm and 6.30pm; a week’s worth of parties in a day and the income and rewards that come with it!
With all the amazing offers available this month there are so many reasons to have your diary packed with excited Hosts. So go for your goals and watch your business take off!
