A refreshing drink, with all the goodness of Ginger & Lemon.

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time: 2 hours
  • Servings:
  • Ingredients

  • 4cm fresh ‘young’ ginger
    ½ large orange
    500ml water
    1 cup castor sugar
    6 lemon flavoured tea bags*
    1.2 Litres chilled water
    ½ lemon
    Several mint leaves
    Ice cubes

  • Directions

  • Peel the ginger with the Universal Peeler. Using the TupperChef Utility Knife thinly slice ginger and orange.

Place ginger slices and castor sugar into the chefseries 2.4 Litre Saucepan with 500ml water. Stir with the TupperChef Spatula over a low heat until the sugar dissolves. Add tea bags to mixture and set aside to cool.

Once chilled, pour the mixture into a 2 Litre Slimline Pitcher. Add orange slices and chilled water to the mixture and seal. Refrigerate for 2 hours or until very cold.

Juice the lemon with the Bake 2 Basics Citrus Wonder.

Remove the tea bags from the pitcher and discard. Add the mint leaves, lemon juice and ice. Stir, seal and serve.

    Tips

Buy ginger that has a very pale smooth skin.  If the ginger has pale pink tips – it is very fresh, extremely juicy and flavoursome. Old ginger with dark, dry and shriveled skin will have little flavour.

Either lemon scented black tea or herbal lemon tea bags can be used.
