Want to know more about becoming a Tupperware Demonstrator? Looking to start your own business and take your first steps into a world of independence and wonderful opportunity? Let one of our Demonstrators contact you today.
Contact MeTupperware has always been big a part of Kalena’s life – growing up, her mum was a ‘Tupperware lady’ and Kalena herself was a self-confessed Tupperware devotee – but it wasn’t until August 2007 that the New Zealand mother-of-two realised the amazing career opportunities available.
Kalena was at a Tupperware party hosted by her sister when she started speaking to the Demonstrator about hosting one herself. “My sister told her that I was a Tupperware freak and the Demonstrator said to me, ‘ You don’t need a party, you need to be selling it!’
The more Kalena learned about the great money and flexible hours, the more she realised it was the
perfect business venture for her. “The opportunity and the potential is endless,” she says. “I was looking for something that would give me some extra money while allowing me to have some me-time… little did I realise it was going to take me much, much further than that! And I didn’t want to put the children into full-time day care. The flexibility was a big thing for me when I started, and it still is now.”
It means a lot to Kalena to be able to attend her children’s, Hannah (7) and Blake (4), school concerts, athletics days and so forth, as well as being able to give them extra treats and family holidays – things that Kalena couldn’t previously afford.
The financial benefits of Tupperware really came into play in 2009 when Kalena’s husband, Rob, was made redundant. “That was a huge shock to our family,” explains Kalena. “He was out of work for about three months, so I simply held more parties, and got paid more.”
Kalena is also astounded by the rewards and recognition she continuously achieves through Tupperware. Not only has she been recognised as a top Manager, she has also earned overseas trips, designer homewares and kitchen appliances. This is all in addition to the income she earns and
her Manager car.
To be driving around in a brand new Manager car – a spacious Ford Territory – was something she could never have done through her former job in the travel industry. “It’s just been amazing,” she says. “In a lot of jobs, you’d be lucky to get a pat on the back. To be rewarded like that for just doing a
good job, it’s huge.”
Although Kalena says she was painfully shy growing up, with the training and support Tupperware provides, she has found new confidence to achieve her goals and has even given speeches in front of hundreds of people at a recent Conference.
“That just shows how far I’ve come. It’s an amazing sense of personal achievement,” she says.
